About Meals for Guests with Food Allergies

Food Allergies

At Shirahama Onsen Kishu Hanto, we are unable to provide meals prepared for food allergies. As the safety of our guests is our highest priority, we permit guests who themselves have allergies to bring in safe foods (such as retort or frozen items) and their own tableware. If you wish, we can also take custody of retort-pouch foods you bring and heat them in our kitchen before serving. If you plan to bring your own food, please let us know both at the time of booking and at check-in. Please understand that we are unable to accommodate such requests if made on the day of arrival.

Why We Cannot Provide Allergy-Friendly Meals

Our Policy

Almost all of our menu items are prepared in the same kitchen. We use a wide variety of ingredients, and we do not separate our cooking utensils by ingredient. For this reason, trace amounts of allergens may become mixed into the foods we serve during processing and cooking.

Likewise, allergens may become mixed into tableware such as plates and spoons during the washing process, and this cannot be completely prevented. We therefore wish to inform you that our facility is unable to provide dishes from which allergens have been completely removed. Taking the above into consideration—including food brought in from outside and dining within the same venue—we ask that you make the final judgment yourself.

When Using the Restaurant

At the Restaurant

If you wish to bring in food to eat, or if you need any arrangement at the restaurant in advance—such as requesting that certain ingredients be omitted from a dish—please fill out the advance confirmation form and be sure to send it to us at least three weeks before your stay.
